Favorite Shots:
In Kill Bill, when she sees someone she wants to kill and it zooms in on her face and it turns red and plays that ringing music, I love that.
In the Goonies, when it shows the ship sailing away from Astoria, along with the score that was beautiful
In Sin City, not a great movie but still wonderful looking, when the camera starts at Dwight's feet and zooms up, his red converse look amazing.
Also anytime in the Clockwork Orange when it zooms in on Malcolm's face, definitely when his eyes are pryed open
In Kill Bill Vol 2 when in zooms in on Bud's face and he says, "She deserves to live.... and we all deserve to die"
In Halloween when Michael gets shot off the ledge and they see his dead body and then they leave and they check for his dead body again and its gone! and the chilling music plays.
Any shot with that dreadful bunny in it in Donnie Darko
Favorite Scenes:
In X2 when Nightcrawler infiltrates the white house, good use of the "slo-mo" effect and very good special effects. Also the mannerisms and actions of the bodyguards all seemed realistic.
In Gattaca when Vincent and Antawn are swimming in the water and it's a shot from overhead and that beautiful score is playing. You are really cheering on Vincent then.
The bike scene from the Goonies, the shots from overhead, along with the funny dialogue and "Goonies R Good enough" make this scene great
In Kill Bill when O-Ren Ishii and her posse are struttin', also when Darryl Hannah is walkin down the hallway eyepatch cladden and with a massive syringe in hand, and that chilling whistle song
In Ferris Bueller's the phone call to principal Rooney and when he's in his bedroom talking to the camera.
The Teahouse gun foo fight in Hardboiled was amazing, along with the ending in the hospital.
Bar scene in Gremlins, so funny!
Favorite Sequences:
When Antonio is riding the bike in "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" and he jumps in the car and goes more, also when Johnny is blind and shoots those two guys.
When Ferris is running home and his sister hits him and they see each other and its a race home with Rooney, a lucky baseball, and two attractive women in bikinis.
Favorite acts:
I like the Usual Suspects and the sixth sense which are pretty good leading up until the end and then it hits you you're like woah! I gotta watch it again
Also in movies like American Beauty where you know that the main character is going to die but its still sad when he does
Also in Donnie Darko when movies deal with time travel and flashbacks.
I also love revenge acts and movies that make you think ofd what you would do in their position.

Well howdy howdy! My name is Joel and I want to make movie pictures and write my own music for them. It sounds like a difficult task I know but looks like I joined a great site to get me started off! My screenplays are usually dark but somewhat humorous at times.

Revenge:
(Kill Bill) Kill Bill is a story of a young woman who's out for revenge when her wedding gets crashed and everyone gets killed except for her. The bloody and sadistic nature of Bill and the assassins makes you want the Bride to take revenge once she comes out of her coma.
Loneliness:
(Pan's Labyrinth) Ofelia misses her mother and her father. This is what may cause her to explore and wander off sometimes. It's not a main theme of the story but a theme nonetheless.
Honor among thieves:
(Ocean's 11, 12, and 13) In these movies it always seem like they're going to betray each other, but they never do. They always go by plan, and always come out on top.
Importance of Telling the Truth:
(Superman 2) When he's in a relationship with Lois he has to tell her he's superman or he will always be keeping a secret from her.
The Cost of Ambition:
(catch me if you can) He gave up being a con man to help the fbi find counterfeit bills.

Action -Desperado, Kill Bill, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, From Dusk Till Dawn, Hardboiled, Battle Royale, 3,000 miles to graceland, True Romance (Somewhat), Die Hard
I really think Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez films probably should have their own genres called dialogactionepic, but action will just have to do.
Common factors are usually prominent in action movies, like the main character is a foul-mouthed tough talkin brute or just plain, quiet and cool. Rarely you'll get a hero who is going to the star trek convention after he is done whipping up on the baddies'/goodies' asses, (no offense to star trek, to each his own). Examples of this are Seth Gecko in From Dusk Till Dawn(probably one of the most badass characters evar!), Tequila in Hardboiled, and ofcourse John McClain in Die Hard. Ofcourse there are always dealbreakers, in Kill Bill the bride is just plain pissed off!
Also in every action movie the main villian usually has a big henchman/assassin that is pretty cool and can whip up on the bad guy. They usually have different weapons as well whether it just be a different type of machine gun or grenades and knives. Examples of these are Mad Dog in Hardboiled and the knife guy in Desperado. Even Star Wars has Boba Fett!
In every action movie, usually the beginning starts with a bang. Whether it be the gas station shootout in from dusk till dawn, The Bride getting shot and fighting with Vivica a Fox in Kill Bill, the teahouse shootout in Hardboiled, or the bank robbery in 3000 miles to Graceland, action movies usually start with a bang.
I'd also like to add there is rarely a quiet African-American, male or woman. They nearly always get their opinion heard, and usually view themselves as the ultimate badass/common logic. Usually screaming GODDAMN! or I'M GON SHOOT THIS DUCKER UP! They're rarely extremely intelligent and can get very cliche'd/tiring sometimes, because I know not all African Americans go AWW HELL YEAH! or GET SOME! A recent example is Tyrese in Transformers.
Another thing that usually occurs in action movies is usually the main villian gets it pretty bad. Rather he be getting shot through the eye or falling off a cliff, he usually gets it in a bad/special way. Rarely does the main star just shoot the dude in the head and says, well that's that!
Also action movies usually feature the main lady being somewhat smart but sometimes nagging and annoying. Ultimately though she's usually just another broad that the main guy needs to save, just more special. Rarely are these characters ugly or have bad physical attributes, you will rarely see a cross-eyed one-boobed leading lady.
Other common factors are sex on first action date, prolonged car chases with random ramps and newspaper/fruit stands to crash through, and anything will blow up with one wellplaced shot if it has a tank or gasoline and usually the explosion will be plenty big and pleasant for the eyes, in a sadistical way.

Quentin Tarantino worked at a movie rental place before he started directing and writing movies. He watched what type of movies that the people would like to rent and would usually suggest movies too.
John Carpenter always wanted to be a director. He was captivated by films and started making movies even before he was in High School. He was into old horror movies and westerns and this is what probably influenced "The Thing" and "Halloween."
John Woo was deemed homeless early in his years by a famous fire. The local theatre was found as his retreat with him loving musicals such as "The Wizard of Oz" and he liked "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." The device of two comrades each firing pistols beside each other is seen in most of his movies.
