Boy and Bicycle is Ridley Scott's first venture into narrative film making. Whilst still a photography student at the Royal College of Art, Ridley shot this little film on 16mm in 1962.
The star of Boy and Bicycle is Ridley's younger brother, Tony. Himself a successful director, responsible for such films as Top Gun, True Romance and one of my thrashy faves, The Hunger.
The DVD of Ridley's debut feature, The Duellists contains this short film, along with an insightful commentary on it's production from the director himself.
