Action Flick with Multiple Heroes [Getting Started » Getting Started]

I want to be able to create a film that has a "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" mood to it. Different characters from different well-known stories will come together with a common goal. Could be a comedy with action or an action with comedy.

This book is excellent! Me and You and Memento and Fargo takes a hard look at the quality American indepedent films that have emerged over the past 25 years and highlights the elements of their screenplays make them so great. Such chapters include "The Ambivalent Protagonist in Stranger Than Paradise", "The Flashback Structure of Reservoir Dogs", "Memento as Puzzle Film", and "The Character-Based Structure of Slacker". The author puts an emphasis on the originality of ideas - have to say, I agree with him! The full contents page is on Amazon.com - I really can't recommend this book highly enough.
