Adventures in Babysitting
The girl is supposed to go on a date with her boyfriend, but he comes over to cancel on her. She is then offered a babysitting job for the night and she accepts considering she has nothing better to do now. While babysitting her loopy friend calls her and tells her she is stranded at the bus station as she attempted to run away, but now changes her mind. The girl decides she needs to pick up her friend, but she can't leave the children at home, so she brings them with her, along with the teenage boy's perverted friend.

This book is excellent! Me and You and Memento and Fargo takes a hard look at the quality American indepedent films that have emerged over the past 25 years and highlights the elements of their screenplays make them so great. Such chapters include "The Ambivalent Protagonist in Stranger Than Paradise", "The Flashback Structure of Reservoir Dogs", "Memento as Puzzle Film", and "The Character-Based Structure of Slacker". The author puts an emphasis on the originality of ideas - have to say, I agree with him! The full contents page is on Amazon.com - I really can't recommend this book highly enough.
